ABOUT WILD WEST ANGUS

Mitch was primarily raised in the agriculturally rich Klamath Basin and was brought up around farming and ranching his entire life. Mitch's influence comes from his father, who could do it all, from logging to ranch manager in Paulina, Oregon. Mitch participated in 4H and fair, and helped his dad extensively. In high school and college Mitch showed sheep professionally for other breeders. Mitch has a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture, with a minor in Animal Science from Oregon State University. During his college years, Mitch was a member of the National Livestock Judging Team, as well as the college Rodeo Team, qualifying for the Intercollegiate Finals in bareback riding. In addition to raising great black angus cattle, Mitch started his own distinguished Wild West Wildlife Art Taxidermy Studio back in 1987 (mitchcaintaxidermy.com) and is a renowned and accomplished multi-award winning taxidermist, doing custom works of wildlife taxidermy from all regions of the world.  We strive to complement our intentions, with diversity thrown in, to meet the needs of our customers, whether it's to maximize your feed efficiency, carcass traits or calving ease. We want to produce cattle that don't have to live out of the feed bucket to thrive.

Wild West Angus markets bulls in California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, and Oregon, through various sales, including Klamath Bull Sale, Snyder Bull Test, Midland Bull Test, and Red Bluff Bull Sale, in addition to being available for sale right off the place.

Wild West Angus is located in the beautiful farming community of Dairy, Oregon, just 20 miles east of Klamath Falls, in the south central part of Oregon State.

Breeding Program History

We want our cattle to work hard for you and hold up under any conditions. Herd sires selected are wide based, heavy boned, easy calving with moderate milking EPDS and high weaning and yearling weights, out of top producing, high performing structurally correct cows. As a small family outfit, with a limit on space and resources, we keep only our best performers. This ensures our customers the best from proven, productive cow families, and performance bulls, to meet the needs of your production programs.
